Introduction

This interactive resource provides access to analyses of the ethnic minority populations and the labour market using a range of key census indicators and geographies. The analyses highlight key changes between 1991 and 2001. Comparisons of the expected labour market circumstances in each neighbourhood of England and Wales based on national individual analyses are also provided. Information is available by: national level; Government Office Region and neighbourhood. The neighbourhoods are a bespoke scheme of one thousand areas in Britain.

The analysis is drawn from the research conducted by the Centre for Census and Survey Research at the University of Manchester and the Department of Geography at the University of Sheffield on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions.
